Natural Sequence Farming Goondiwindi

Martin travelled to the NSW Queensland border with the team from Tarwyn Park Training, John Fry and Stuart Andrews. The trip was an opportunity to further his understanding of Natural Sequence Farming - an approach developed by Peter Andrews OAM to rehydrate the Australian landscape.

The trip was challenging in that the flood plain landscape was immense in scale and had very little topographic variation - it appeared flat making understanding and recognising water patterns difficult to the untrained eye. The team investigated major erosion and topsoil migration as a result of farming and landscape management practices and developed strategies for mitigating these issues.

Time spent with the Tarwyn Park Training team is always interesting and Martin came away with a deeper understanding of the Australian natural landscape function.
